The email you wish to send is being refused to be sent by the server.
All outbound email sent through our servers is scored by Spam Assassin and assigned a score. If the score is over 5 it will not be accepted for sending and generate a "550 This message was classified as SPAM and may not be delivered" message. These security rules are crucial to insure that compromised email accounts from you or any of the other clients sharing the mail server are not sending spam which will get the mail server on an RBL / Reputation ban list resulting all email being refused. It is also an important way to notify you that the mail you are trying to send (even if we didn't filter outbound email) would be rejected or marked as spam and not delivered to the intended recipient by the recipients mail server.
The error typically occurs when there is an issue with the format or content of the email you are sending or when using an external system (other than webmail) that is infected with a virus or connecting from an IP address on an RBL or Reputation list.
Any of the factors listed below could increase the spam score of the email you are attempting to send causing it to be refused. In some cases your system or ip status may have changed and it temporarily on an RBL or its Reputation changed causing your base spam score (before you send anything) to be on the edge of failing.
COMMON CAUSES THAT CONTRIBUTE TO OUTBOUND EMAIL SCORING AS SPAM:
- Systems connecting directly to the server from an IP on an RBL or that has a poor reputation or on an RBL list.
- Sending an email without a Recipient but with CC or BCC
- Sending an email back to the same email address with or without CC or BCC copies.
- Large number of Multiple CC or BCC users.
- Emails containing CC or BCC email addresses that don't exist
- Subject that contains keywords used by spammers (see list below).
- Body message containing keywords commonly used by spammers (see list below).
- Body message with little or no text.
- Attachments that are non standard mime type or that scan as a virus.
- Emails containing links to external websites or phishing / malware sites.
- Emails containing images served from external websites vs attaching the image.
- Connecting from an external system (email software, tablet, phone) that is infected. with a Virus
CONNECTING FROM AN EXTERNAL SYSTEM: If you use a third party system (computer email client, tablet, phone) instead of webmail your IP that is assigned by your ISP is the connecting source IP and contributes to your spam score. Go to https://lowesthosting.com/ip and enter your ip into Ciscos IP reputation checker https://talosintelligence.com/reputation_center if it shows Poor or is on an RBL black list use the webmail system and contact your ISP and request a new clean ip or switch to your mobile carrier isp via a mobile hotspot.
Remember any time you use an external phone or software system that directly connects to the server use SSL port 465 . If you experience outbound acceptance block we can't see what you are trying to send and the server logs only contain basic information and does not show the individual rules that caused the email you are trying to send to score as spam.
TEST VIA WEBMAIL: Replicate the EXACT SAME EMAIL you can't send via your system including attachments (regardless of if its a REPLY containing a string of message threads or a NEW email) and send it via webmail (webmail.yourdomain or through your cpanel email account) If it sends via webmail then the issue with your system not set to enable SMTP authentication or is injecting a virus or signature with links to malware or connecting from an IP address that has a poor reputation which contribute to the emails spam score.

COMMON WAYS TO REDUCE SPAM SCORE:
1. Remove needless CC / BCC
2. Change or remove subject words that are typical of solicitation ie: Special Offer , Dating , Girls, Banking, Money
3. Remove needless reply history threads so your reply is the only content being sent
4. Switch from HTML to Plain Text
5. Remove Signature that contains links to non secure images or images served from external servers.
6. Rename or reformat file attachments or send them as zip files.
7. Convert from a Reply to a New Email by sending a new email with the same subject . This strips out the hidden IP addresses and relayers embedded in a reply header.
